Blogging My Favorite Lens for Shooting!
Spilling The Tea On My Favorite Lenses!
Friends, have you ever been on Instagram or Facebook, just minding your own news feed and come across a scroll stopping image, wondering what they used? It's a natural thing. If you ever looked at my work and wondered what I use, this blog is about what my favorite go to lenses are! I am a sucker for bokeh, I cannot deny the obsession lol. For those who may not know, bokeh is a term used when referring to the background of an image, when its super blurry and creamy. It looks so dreamy and whimsical! Each genre I shoot has a specific lens that I use primarily.
First, let's talk portraits! 99% of the time, I use my 70-200 f2.8, it is a long lens but it gives some pretty bokeh! It does zoom if necessary, although I keep it mainly on 200 and the aperture on 2.8! If you have this lens, I would recommend a tripod or using it with a steady hand because that lens is really HEAVY! If you aren't steady and have a high shutter speed, your images can be blurry! After each session, I always feel like I got an arm workout!
My next lens is what I use in my home studio, for tighter spaces for my portraits where my 70-200 is too close, births and fresh 48's! Its my Canon 24-70! It is a lighter lens that is very versatile! Especially for my hospital shoots, they aren't always the roomiest of places and I don't always have the luxury of maneuvering around the room to get my shots, so the zoom can come in handy! I do have to say though, I am starting to have an issue that apparently is typical for that lens which I did not know about! The glass in my lens rattles around and is loose. I took it to an amazing waterfall shoot, and condensation got all in the inside of the lens, and now I have to take it to a shop!
I think I am going to be selling it, and purchasing a 35 mm prime lens! I'll keep you updated!
Until next topic, thanks for reading!
